Slip testing that holds up when it's questioned.

We measure how slippery your floors really are with the pendulum test, the method the HSE and the courts trust — and hand you a clear Pendulum Test Value backed by UKAS accreditation. No flooring sales, no spin.

What we do

One honest number that tells you whether a floor is safe.

The pendulum test reproduces the moment a heel meets the floor and measures the grip available. We come to you anywhere in Bradford and West Yorkshire, test the surface in the condition it's actually walked on, and report a Pendulum Test Value with a plain-English assessment.

01

On-site testing

Floors tested where they are, wet and dry, in three directions — the way slips really occur.

02

Pre-purchase & samples

Laboratory testing of flooring before you commit, so the PTV is known before it's laid.

03

Reports & evidence

Reports for compliance and procurement, and independent evidence for insurers and claims.

Why it matters

Slips remain the biggest single cause of major injury at work.

  • Evidence your duties under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
  • Show reasonable precautions were taken if a claim or HSE enquiry follows an accident.
  • Sign off new flooring against a measured value, not a supplier's promise.
  • Back up insurance, procurement and landlord-tenant matters with impartial data.
Dry floors lie. Nearly everything grips when dry — slips happen when a floor is wet or contaminated, so that is the condition in which we test.
Why us

A UKAS laboratory with no floor to sell you.

Because we don't supply, fit or treat flooring, the result is yours alone — impartial and defensible. Every test follows BS 7976-2 / BS EN 16165 under our UKAS accreditation (Lab No. 7933) and HSE and UKSRG guidance, with the slider, direction and conditions recorded so it stands up to scrutiny. We cover Bradford and the wider region — see the areas we cover.
